Dear Residents of Beacon Hill-Cyrville
This year has been filled with moments of personal joy, professional triumph, and, most importantly, the growth of our shared community. On a deeply personal note, I am beyond grateful for my incredible wife, Jenny, and our family, who are my unwavering source of strength, support, and inspiration. The joy of watching our family grow and thrive is truly one of the greatest blessings of my life. I am incredibly proud of my children, seeing them embrace the world with such passion, kindness, and determination. They continue to amaze me every day, and it’s in their smiles and laughter that I find my true joy.
Very low risk of hepatitis A exposure at a Hunt Club Road Tim Hortons
Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is alerting the public to a possible hepatitis A exposure at the Tim Hortons location at 372 Hunt Club Rd. OPH is investigating a confirmed case of hepatitis A in an employee at this location. While the risk to patrons is very low, OPH recommends that anyone who ate and/or drank products from this location, between November 15 and December 8, 2024, to monitor for signs and symptoms of hepatitis A for 50 days. Any patron who experiences fever, loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain, feeling generally unwell (malaise), yellow skin and eyes (jaundice), pale stools or dark urine should seek medical assessment. Risk to patrons is considered to be very low because of the food service establishment’s proper attention to hygiene and safe food preparation.

Transit win for Seniors, Budget and other things
This week, I’m pleased to share that the City’s budget for 2025 has now been finalized. After a thorough review and a lot of hard work, I’m happy to report that I fought for and secured important investments for our community. From infrastructure improvements to ensuring that vital services remain accessible and effective, this budget reflects the priorities and needs of our neighbourhood.

Teen program develops swimmers today, leaders tomorrow
It’s a Friday evening. The sounds of young people splashing and laughing echo off the walls in an indoor pool facility, while the warm, moist air is filled with that clean, chlorinated fragrance. It’s a familiar scene we and our families have experienced, enjoyed, and have often taken for granted in our youth – learning how to swim. Unfortunately, financial barriers prevent many young teens from sharing that same opportunity to learn and have fun. That was the inspiration for a City of Ottawa recreation supervisor at the Splash Wave Pool, Marc Latreille, and his team to participate in the I Love to Lifesave program.
