<\/p>\nToday, Grade 5 students had an exciting and educational experience when they visited City Hall to learn about how their city is run. The visit gave them a chance to see how local government works in real life and connect what they\u2019ve been learning in the classroom to the world around them.<\/p>\n
The day started with a fun and interactive simulated council meeting. The students got to pretend they were council members, the mayor, or city staff, and worked together to discuss important issues. They asked thoughtful questions, shared their ideas, and learned how decisions are made that affect their community. It was amazing to see how engaged and excited the students were to be part of the process and understand what goes into running a city.<\/p>\n
After the meeting, the students went on a tour of City Hall. They got to explore the building, visit different departments, and learn about the important jobs that help keep the city running smoothly. One of the highlights of the visit was meeting with the Mayor, who took time to talk to the students about their role in the city and how they can make a difference as they grow older. The Mayor encouraged the students to stay curious, ask questions, and get involved in their community.<\/p>\n
A big thank you goes to the City Hall staff who helped make this experience so special. Their passion for teaching the students about local government made the visit both fun and informative.<\/p>\n
This visit to City Hall inspired the Grade 5 students to think more about how their city works and how they can be involved in the future.
