Hôpital Montfort’s 2024-2028 Strategic Plan: A Vision for the Future of Healthcare

Hôpital Montfort has unveiled its ambitious 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, a transformative vision designed to reshape healthcare in Ottawa’s East End and across Eastern Ontario. This bold roadmap focuses on improving accessibility, embracing innovation, and prioritizing personalized care to address the growing and evolving needs of the community. With the population in the region continuing to grow and age, this plan is more than just an infrastructure project—it is a comprehensive effort to ensure that healthcare remains responsive, equitable, and patient-centered for years to come.

Montfort’s 2024-2028 Strategic Plan represents a significant leap forward in addressing the healthcare challenges facing the region. With a focus on key initiatives, the plan promises to make healthcare more accessible, efficient, and personalized, benefiting over 210,000 patients, including 80,000 seniors, who rely on Montfort’s services.

Key Components of Montfort’s 2024-2028 Strategic Plan:

1. A New Clinic at Carrefour santé Aline-Chrétien: Bridging the Gap in Primary Care

A cornerstone of Montfort’s strategic plan is the establishment of a new clinic at Carrefour santé Aline-Chrétien. This essential new facility will provide primary care to patients who currently lack access to a family doctor, addressing a significant gap in care, particularly in areas like Orléans South-Navan.

By offering a range of services including timely appointments, preventive care, and support for ongoing health conditions, this clinic will act as a vital hub for individuals who would otherwise struggle to access primary care services. It is designed to ensure that no patient falls through the cracks of the healthcare system, and that every individual has a family doctor they can rely on for their healthcare needs.

2. Enhanced Personalized Care: Putting Patients at the Heart of the System

At the core of Montfort’s vision is a commitment to personalized care. Montfort is dedicated to strengthening its network of primary care providers, ensuring patients receive tailored, compassionate care that meets their unique health needs.

This approach goes beyond conventional healthcare delivery by fostering stronger, more enduring relationships between patients and their healthcare providers. By focusing on the individual, Montfort will not only enhance the patient experience but also improve health outcomes. This initiative will improve care coordination, ensuring patients receive timely, appropriate services and support at every stage of their healthcare journey, leading to more holistic and sustainable health management.

3. Hospital Expansion: Addressing Growing Healthcare Demands

As Ottawa’s East End continues to grow, so too does the demand for healthcare services. Montfort’s planned hospital expansion will allow the facility to meet the needs of this expanding population by increasing capacity and introducing new services. This expansion is not just about building new physical spaces—it represents a commitment to innovation and state-of-the-art medical technologies that will ensure Montfort can continue to provide the highest standard of care for the community.

The expansion will also include new patient care spaces, improved diagnostic and imaging technologies, and expanded surgical services to accommodate the increasing demands of both routine and emergency healthcare. This strategic investment will ensure Montfort’s ability to remain at the forefront of healthcare delivery, equipped to serve the community for decades to come.

4. 24/7 Access to Specialized Services: Timely Care When You Need It Most

Montfort is introducing 24/7 access to specialized services, ensuring that patients can access timely, high-quality care whenever they need it. This around-the-clock care will include specialized consultations, emergency treatment, and urgent care for conditions such as cardiology, neurology, and surgery, allowing for quicker interventions and improved outcomes.

This model of care will not only reduce wait times but also provide patients with peace of mind, knowing that specialized care is always available. Whether it’s a sudden medical emergency or a need for urgent specialized care, Montfort will be ready to respond at any hour, reducing strain on emergency departments and ensuring that individuals receive the care they need without delay.

5. A Plan to Serve an Aging and Diverse Population

As Ottawa and Eastern Ontario face demographic shifts, particularly with an aging population, Montfort’s strategic plan focuses on creating a healthcare environment that is adaptable to the diverse needs of the community. This includes specialized services for seniors, such as geriatric care, chronic disease management, and dementia care.

The plan also emphasizes inclusive care that is culturally competent and responsive to the varied backgrounds and needs of individuals in the region. Whether it’s addressing the healthcare needs of newcomers, young families, or veterans, Montfort’s focus is on delivering a healthcare experience that reflects the values and needs of the community it serves.

This strategy ensures that Montfort will not only meet the needs of today’s population but also provide long-term solutions to ensure the well-being of future generations, creating a sustainable healthcare system that is built for the future.

A Stronger, Healthier Future for Ottawa and Eastern Ontario

The 2024-2028 Strategic Plan represents an ambitious and forward-thinking step for Hôpital Montfort, positioning the hospital as a leader in the healthcare sector in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario. Through investments in infrastructure, innovative medical technologies, and personalized care, Montfort is ensuring that healthcare in the region remains accessible, inclusive, and of the highest quality.

For over 210,000 patients, including 80,000 seniors, this plan represents a brighter, healthier future, where healthcare needs are met with compassion, expertise, and efficiency.

Montfort’s 2024-2028 Strategic Plan is more than just a blueprint for healthcare expansion—it is a commitment to ensuring that Ottawa’s East End and Eastern Ontario continue to thrive, with accessible, high-quality healthcare for all. Together, we will build a stronger, healthier future for the community.
