A New Chapter for Le Coin du Livre

Le Coin du Livre opened a new chapter with the grand opening of its vibrant new space — a powerful celebration of Franco-Ontarian culture, community, and resilience.
October 3, 2025 by Andrea Shane

I had the privilege of taking part in a moment that will stay with me for a long time: the grand opening of Le Coin du Livre’s new location.

Being there alongside Nathalie Savard and her team was a powerful reminder of how determination and passion can turn an idea into something truly exceptional. Through their hard work and vision, this iconic francophone space has entered a new chapter. The result is inspiring — a modern, warm, and welcoming space that will continue to play a central role in our community.

I had the honour of cutting the green and white ribbon — a symbol of Franco-Ontarian pride — with golden scissors, surrounded by Nathalie, her team, and many members of the community. MPP Lucille Collard and Madeleine Meilleur, a leading figure in francophone affairs, also joined us to celebrate this milestone. That simple yet deeply symbolic gesture marked more than just an official opening: it reflected the continuity and vitality of Franco-Ontarian culture in our community.

What moved me most was seeing just how much Le Coin du Livre is more than a bookstore. It is a place of heart — a gathering point and a source of inspiration. Everyone there shared the same feeling: a deep belief that our language, our stories, and our culture deserve to be preserved and celebrated.

I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Nathalie and her entire team for this remarkable achievement. In giving them a new space, they’ve given us much more than a physical location — they’ve reminded us that our francophonie is alive, strong, and forward-looking.

It was an honour to be part of such a proud and joyful occasion, and I look forward to seeing all that Le Coin du Livre will continue to bring to our community in the years to come.
