Community Trivia Night for a Great Cause

A full room, great energy, and a community coming together for a fun night in support of the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre’s Gender-Based Violence Team.
April 23, 2026 by Andrea Shane

A great night, a full room, and a community that showed up.

Our first Community Trivia Night brought people together in the best way. Residents, local leaders, and community partners filled the room for an evening that was equal parts fun, connection, and purpose.

This event was made possible in partnership with Dominion City Brewing Co. and the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre, with proceeds supporting EORC’s Gender-Based Violence Team.

More Than Just a Trivia Night

This night was about more than questions and scoreboards.

It was about coming together to support work that matters. The Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre’s Gender-Based Violence Team provides critical support to individuals facing incredibly difficult situations. This event was one way our community could stand behind that work and be part of something meaningful.

A Strong First Event

From the moment doors opened, the energy was there.

People came ready to play, connect, and support a good cause. The room was engaged, the competition was lively, and the feedback was clear — this is something the community wants more of.

For a first-time event, the turnout and response exceeded expectations and set a strong foundation for what’s ahead.

Thank You to Our Partners and Supporters

A sincere thank you to Dominion City Brewing Co. and the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre for their partnership and commitment in bringing this event to life.

We are also grateful to those who stepped up to support the night in a meaningful way. Prize contributions from Titan Performance Centre, Llew and Andrea McWana,  helped elevate the experience and added to the energy in the room.

And to everyone who attended, participated, and supported the event — thank you. Nights like this only happen when people show up, and this community did exactly that.

Looking Ahead

This was just the beginning.

The feedback was strong, the momentum is there, and planning is already underway for the next Trivia Night. We learned a lot, had a lot of fun, and we’re ready to build on it.

Thank You Again

Thank you again to everyone who made Community Trivia Night such a success.

It was a great evening for an important cause.
