Ottawa Shows Up for Special Olympics at the 2026 Polar Plunge
Not every Saturday involves jumping into freezing water, but this one did. And yes, it was cold.
On Saturday, February 21, 2026, Ottawa’s community spirit was on full display at the 2026 Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Ontario. Hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa and led by the Ottawa Police Service, the annual event brought together members of City Council, MPP George Darouze, the Chief of Police, community partners, and residents from across the city to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes throughout Ontario.
The Polar Plunge is more than a chilly tradition. It is a powerful show of support for athletes who train hard, compete with heart, and demonstrate every day what determination truly looks like.
